Bridge Corps

Guidance from engineering professionals is critical to the successful implementation of university projects. All university teams are required to have at least one Bridge Corps member serve as a mentor for their project. A Bridge Corps member should be a qualified professional with relevant experience who is dedicated to the student chapter and enthusiastic about the EIA mission. The role involves supporting the university team both on-campus and in the field, which consists of providing technical assistance, checking calculations, reviewing final bridge layout and design, assisting in report writing, participating in review calls, supervising bridge construction, etc. These responsibilities can be split between multiple Bridge Corps members. EIA requires that a Bridge Corps member is present on site with the student chapter for the entirety of the critical construction phase (tower completion through decking completion) at a minimum, but strongly encourages Bridge Corps supervision at all times while the team is on site.
