Gopi Ramanathan

Bridge Program Coordinator

Gopi's passion for connecting people and places began early, fueled by a childhood filled with curiosity and exploration. As a child of immigrants, he traveled the world, igniting a desire to understand and bridge cultural divides. This passion found its home at Cornell University, where he joined the Engineers in Action (EIA) Bridge Program in 2018.

Gopi's journey with EIA has been one of leadership and impact. He served in multiple roles within the student chapter, culminating in a trip to Eswatini in 2019 to build the Mdlasomi bridge. After graduating with degrees in Government and Mechanical Engineering, he joined the EIA Bridge Program as Coordinator, eager to empower students and communities to bridge more than just rivers.

Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Gopi finds fulfillment in ensuring the success of each build season. Seeing volunteers come together, fueled by determination and a shared vision, brings him immense satisfaction. His greatest accomplishment? Witnessing the completion of two successful build seasons (2022 & 2023), a testament to the collective effort of dedicated volunteers.

Beyond bridge building, Gopi enjoys staying active, connecting with people, and exploring new worlds through podcasts and cooking adventures. His ultimate goal? To become an attorney, using his voice to defend the rights of those facing discrimination.

Gopi is a passionate leader, builder, and advocate, driven by a desire to connect communities and empower individuals through meaningful action.
